Pete Clarke and Georg Gartz Present Their Barmouth Collaboration Work This evening will be the culmination of a week of collaboration by two internationally exhibited artists, Pete Clarke and Georg Gartz. Gartz has recently completed a residency in Marrakesh, Morocco and Clarke has been selected for this year’s John Moore's Painting Prize to be exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery Liverpool part of the Liverpool Biennial in July. These two have been working together since 1998. Inspired by JMW Turner, they decided to embark on travel inspired painting tours. We are fortunate to experience the continuation of their collaborative project, which has reached the Welsh Landscape around Barmouth. The artists will be using studio space at the gallery in the week 12-17 August. During their visit, they may be around in the gallery or out in the area around Barmouth. St John's Hall Gallery.

Tywyn Race the Train This unique event is a must for all multi - terrain runners. Many competitors return regularly to try and better their performance or just beat that train while others have run nearly every year since the races started. Most serious runners have heard about it either from their friends, TV, or the press so if you haven’t already competed perhaps this year is the time to attempt it. These events also give you the additional challenge of not only racing your fellow competitor’s but also the Train. Having been televised world-wide on several occasions we have attracted many runners from abroad coming from as far away as New Zealand, Australia, America, Hong Kong, Africa etc. Tywyn Wharf Station

Night Trail Wales Imagine a runnable 3-4km route, not too technical, with enough elevation to sort out the runners. Imagine a race that starts in the dusk of an Autumn Saturday evening, and ends in full darkness. Imagine an event with a real party atmosphere, with a DJ, bar, hot food and a race arena lit up with flood lights.
As you can imagine too, head torches are mandatory kit for the race and there will be a sea of head lights winding their way through the trails throughout the evening.
The race will be determined by those runners who complete the most number of laps in 3 hours, simple, and you'll be kept up to date with race commentary and leader board style updates for the leading men, women and teams.
